Privacy Policy
Your privacy is the whole point of WidgBin. What you put in is yours, it's encrypted, and it stays private. We don't use it, we don't share it, and we don't sell it — full stop. This page just spells that out plainly so there's nothing to wonder about.
- The only personal data we store is what you choose to enter: your account email and the content you add to your widgets.
- Everything you save in your widgets is encrypted and private to you. We don't read it, mine it, or use it for anything except showing it back to you.
- We do not track you. No IP logging, no browser or device fingerprinting, no advertising, no hidden profile — none of it.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your data, and we never will.
- We use Google Analytics only for anonymous, aggregate visit counts, and we don't store that data ourselves.
That's really it. The rest of this page is just the details behind those promises.
- Your account information. When you sign up, we store the email address you register with and your authentication credentials (such as a passkey or passcode) so you can sign in securely.
- The content you add to your widgets. Whatever you enter — to-do items, notes, logs, recipes, and so on — is stored encrypted and kept private to your account. We don't read it, analyze it, or use it for anything other than showing it back to you.
- Messages you send us. If you use our Contact form, we receive the name, email, and message you provide so we can reply.
We don't log your IP address, your browser or user-agent, your device details, or your location, and we don't build any kind of profile of what you do. If we ever add a feature that genuinely needs more than the basics above, it will be opt-in: we'll ask you first, explain exactly why, and it won't happen unless you say yes.
We use Google Analytics to see aggregate, anonymous usage — for example how many people visit a page — so we can improve WidgBin. This data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy; we don't store it in our own database. Our Contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam, which is also subject to Google's privacy policy and terms.
WidgBin runs on cloud infrastructure (such as AWS and MongoDB hosting) that stores your encrypted data on our behalf. These providers act as our service providers and don't have their own rights to use your data. You can read more about cookies in our Cookies Policy.
- To provide the service — showing you your widgets and the content you've saved.
- To let you sign in securely and keep your account safe.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To keep the service running reliably and to fix problems.
We don't sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information — to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. There is no exception to this. The only systems that ever hold your data are the service providers that run WidgBin for us (like our cloud hosting), and only so the service works; they can't use it for anything of their own.
The content you store in your widgets is encrypted. We use secure authentication (passkeys and rotating tokens) and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
You can delete your data at any time. Removing an item or widget deletes that content, and you can delete your entire account and everything in it by contacting us at [email protected]. Once deleted, it can't be recovered. Backups may take a short time to fully clear.
We would only access, preserve, or share your information if we were legally required to do so (such as by a valid court order), or if we believed in good faith it was necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, or harm.
WidgBin isn't intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here. If the changes are significant, we'll do our best to let you know. Continuing to use WidgBin after an update means you accept it.
